Obituary

Cruz Gonzalez was born on May 9, 1946, in Robstown, Texas. At a young age, she married Jesus "Chuy" Gonzalez and celebrated 62 years together, a true "till death did they part" story.

Cruz had a deep and unwavering love for her family. She carried herself with grace, strength, and a joyful spirit, always facing life with warmth and beauty that touched everyone around her. She found happiness in life's simple moments, especially when surrounded by those she loved. She enjoyed playing Lotería (Bingo) with her family, often insisting on playing more cards than she could handle, just for the fun of it. She also enjoyed an occasional tequila shot, never "the weak sauce the others like to drink," as she would proudly say. Cruz loved to dance and listen to Tejano music, bringing energy and joy to every gathering. Her generosity knew no bounds, especially during Christmas, when she made sure every single member of her family received a gift. Giving brought her as much joy as being surrounded by those she loved.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Chuy; her father, Remigio; brother Romauldo and sister Elena as well as many family members she held close to her heart.

She leaves behind a legacy of love through her mother, Maria; her siblings Remigio De La Rosa, Francisco De La Rosa, Jose Luis Garza, Maria Rosario Aleman, Elizabeth Garza, Anita Guerra, Victor Garza, Martina Garza and their spouses and family; her sons Jessie, Richard, Robert, and Leroy and his wife Irma; and her daughter Lucinda and her husband Cesar. She was also blessed with over 20 grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and even great-great-grandchildren, along with countless extended family members who will forever cherish her memory.

She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Though our hearts ache, we find comfort in knowing she is no longer in pain and now rests peacefully in the presence of our Lord.
