Cecilio Guillermo Rodriguez

Cecilio Cazares Rodriguez Sr., also known as Chilo, was born on November 22, 1947, in Valle Hermoso, Tamaulipas, Mexico, and grew up in Dallas, Texas. He passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, at his home in Dallas, Texas, on September 22, 2026.

Cecilio retired as a Drafting Engineer, contributing to numerous building projects throughout the Dallas area. He proudly served his country as a United States Marine Corps Sergeant during the Vietnam War, a chapter of his life he carried with great pride.

Cecilio had a passion for music and played the saxophone throughout his life. Over the years, he performed with several bands, including The Skylighters and The Heartbreaks. He was also a man of many talents and took the time to learn numerous trades. He was often the family’s “handyman,” and found joy in helping others.

Above all, Cecilio cherished his family. He loved spending time with his children, grandchildren, his dog, and his loved ones. He was a member of The Lighthouse Church, where he was a faithful and generous giver. His generosity extended beyond the church to his family, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, and numerous local fundraisers and community events.

Cecilio was preceded in death by his parents, Elisa and Sabino Rodriguez Sr. He is survived by his children, Cynthia Ford, Cecilio Rodriguez Jr., Roberto Rodriguez, Diana Salas, and Brian Rodriguez; his grandchildren, Jon Mikal, Liliana, Luke, Julian, and grand dog Pablo; his brothers, Juan, Jose, Sabino, Rey, and Israel; and his sisters, Gloria and Mary.

He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered. His legacy will continue through the people he loved and the lives he helped along the way.
