Obituary

Cecil Morris "Scrappy" Fitch passed away on Tuesday, October 4, 2022, in the arms of his loving and devoted wife of 60 years, Martha. Morris was born on April 5, 1941 to Bill and Virginia Fitch in Dallas, Texas. He has 2 sisters, Jane Gibson (husband Mike) and Genna Walden. Morris enjoyed his childhood and made many life-long friends.

Morris and Martha shared many wonderful years together. They had 3 children: daughter, Lynette Books (passed away 2020), daughter Jennifer Eaton (husband Sammy) and son, Jonathan Fitch. Morris shared many special moments and made good memories with each of his 9 grandchildren: Zechariah (wife Sheri), Anna, Mary, Nathan, Jessica, Christian, Abigail, Matthew (passed away 2020), and Lucas. Morris also had 2 great-grandchildren, Alyssa and Asher. There was a lot of love, laughter and many jokes shared when the family was together.

No matter the job Morris had, or the task set before him, he gave it his all. He was a faithful, hardworking employee. He lived a lifetime of loving people, sharing laughter and always making new friends. He had a passion for old cars and collecting things, be it peanut butter jars, milk jugs, screws and nails, or tiny pieces of wood. The family found great evidence of this when cleaning out one of his sheds last year.

The last year of his life was not what he or Martha would've chosen, but he made the best of it. He was sweet and kind to all of his nurses and aides, telling them all how beautiful they were. He would say, "My momma raised a gentleman!" and he lived that to the very end.

His example of being kindhearted, friendly and sharing kind words with everyone he met will be greatly missed.
