Robert Gregory Handerhan
February 6, 1951 – November 20, 2022
Robert Gregory Handerhan, 71, of Duncanville, Texas, died Sunday, November 20, 2022. Bob was born to Robert William Handerhan and Mary Rita Moran on February 6, 1951 in Jamaica, Queens, New York. Shortly after graduating from high school in 1969, he began his 40-year career with American Airlines. Bob loved everything about airplanes and was truly in his element the last half of his career working at the American Airlines Ramp Operations Tower at DFW Airport. His chosen field was one he excelled at and truly enjoyed!
Bob could best be described as jovial. He had a wonderful sense of humor and often laughed so hard that he cried. His ability to make light of heavy things, got him through many of his health challenges later in life. He was very tender-hearted and not ashamed to tear-up during tender moments. He loved all God's creatures, especially his dogs which were always an important part of his family. His greatest joy was the day he stood in a judge's chambers, in a courthouse in Saratov Russia, and instantly became a father as he was granted approval for the adoption of his three sons.
Bob is survived by his wife of 31 years, Peggy, as well as sons Dmitriy, Alex, and Max, and two granddaughters Mia and Bailey.
Bob was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Please join us in celebrating his life at a Memorial Service on Saturday, December 3 rd , at 1pm at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 1019 Big Stone Gap Road, Duncanville, TX.
