Billy Milton Warnica 93, departed peacefully on July 8, 2023 after a brief illness. Bill was born on October 2, 1929 to Vera and Louie Warnica in Breckenridge Texas. After Bill graduated from Corpus Christi High School in 1947 he had a 20 year career in the United States Air Force reaching the rank of Senior Master Sargent. He then went on to a career as a flight inspection pilot with Federal Aviation Administration.

In 1956 Bill married Shirley Preston and went on to have two children, Bryan and Vera. Bill owned an airplane before he owned a car and flying was his passion. He acquired type ratings including the DC-3, Citation, Sabreliner, and Gulfstream II.

Bill and Shirley enjoyed retirement, living and fishing at Lake Fork in East Texas. After Shirley passed away in 2005 Bill moved to El Paso where he enjoyed trap and skeet shooting with friends.

In 2017 Bill moved to Avon Lake, Ohio and continued to enjoy trap and skeet shooting with his son Bryan.

Bill is predeceased by his parents Vera Black and Louie Warnica and his wife of 49 years, Shirley Preston. He is survived by his son Bryan Warnica (Kimberly) of Avon Lake, OH, daughter Vera Reid (Langhorne) of Dallas, TX, grandchildren Jordan Mercurio (Christopher) of Boston MA, Parker Anderson (Dani) of Dallas TX, Bryan Warnica of Avon Lake, OH and Jake Warnica of Winter Park, CO.

A private family service will be held at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery.
