Betty Lou Scott went home to Jesus on June 17, 2022 at age 81.
Betty was born to Ben and Mary Harrison on November 5, 1940 in Dallas, Texas. As an only child, she was adored by her immediate and extended family members. Her favorite pastime was playing with her dolls.
Betty met her husband, Skeety, at Sunset High School in Oak Cliff. They married in 1957 and went on to have three children: Cheryl, Bobby, and Jimmy.
In addition to being a dedicated and loving mother, Betty also was a babysitter to many children. She was loved and cherished by many who called her mother and grandmother. Throughout her entire life, Betty held an unwavering faith in God, which she shared with those who surrounded her. She was a ladies Sunday School teacher for many years. Some of her favorite hobbies were crafting handmade cards, scrap booking, reading, collecting antiques, and talking. She was known for being bossy, her impeccable pink nails, her gold jewelry, and her love of all things pale pink and country blue.
Betty joins her husband, Robert Scott, and her son, Jimmy Scott, in Heaven. She is survived by her children, Cheryl Scott and Bobby Scott; her grandchildren, Jeri Simmons, Mary Ann Brown, Lauren Thompson, and Brittani Hogan; her great grandchildren, Clara Simmons, Clayton Simmons, Claudia Simmons, Clayne Simmons, Kendall Brown, Kerrigan Brown, Kallista Brown, Kade Brown, Madison Roberts, Cayson Roberts, Rylan Thompson, Keslyn Thompson, Eames Hogan, and baby Hogan on the way; and many, many wonderful and loved friends and extended family members.
Her funeral service will be 10:00AM Thursday, June 23, 2022, with visitation beginning at 9:00AM.
