Betty Kathryn Mundell Bennett was born on December 9, 1936 in Boulder, Colorado to Samuel A. and Catherine M. Mundell.  She departed this life at the age of 88 on April 8, 2025, in Dallas, Texas.

Betty married Claude F. Bennett of Ovid, Colorado on August 29, 1958, shortly after their graduation from Colorado A&M University.  Over the course of their 66 years of marriage, she and Claude resided in Colorado, Australia, New York, Kentucky, Arizona, Maryland, Thailand, and Texas.

Betty earned a master's degree in education from SUNY Cortland. She used her teaching skills in both domestic and international settings. She taught home economics in Australia and New York before devoting herself to the raising of her children. For decades she was a much-loved first grade teacher at Forcey Christian School in Silver Spring, Maryland, as well as a volunteer docent at Arlington House in Arlington, Virginia; and after her retirement she taught English to professors at the McGilvary Seminary in Chiang Mai, Thailand.

A woman of steadfast faith, Betty was a longtime member of the Presbyterian Church of the Atonement (Wheaton, MD) and the National Presbyterian Church (Washington, DC), where she served as a deacon and in numerous other roles.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Claude and her brothers Bill and John Mundell.  She is survived by her children, J. Fraser Bennett of Duncanville, Texas and Brynell Beatrice Austin of Warren, Pennsylvania; and by her grandchildren Ruth, Samuel, Isaac, Ann, and Sarah Bennett.
