Betty Lee Becker Cook (age 86) of Fort Worth, Texas died peacefully in her sleep on February 16, 2023.
Betty was a devout Christian, always had a smile on her face, was passionate about the color purple, her Dallas Cowboys and was a lifelong fan of professional baseball. She was very proud of the fact that her dad Heinz Becker played professional baseball for the Cleveland Indians and the Chicago Cubs.
She was born in Dallas, Texas on October 9, 1936 at Baylor Hospital and grew up in the Oak Cliff area with her parents and her younger brother Bobby, and graduated from Adamson High School in 1955. She married Robert "Bob" Cook in 1980 and lived a long and happy life with him until his passing. She never had children but loved her nephews as her own - Phillip, Bruce, David and Douglas. She also had a group of life-long girlfriends from high school she would meet up with occasionally.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Heinz Reinhard Becker and Hattie Lee Brumley Becker, her brother Robert H. Becker, and her husband, Robert Cook. She is survived by her step-daughters Maghen Garrett (Ricky Allen) and Jane Medlin (Henry), her nephews Phillip Becker (Elizabeth), Bruce Becker (Carrie), David Becker (Kim), and Douglas Becker (Lorraine), cousin John Becker, and many great nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on March 10, 2023, 2:30 p.m., at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery where she will be laid to rest next to her husband.
