Bernabe Chavez Ortega aka "Barney" was born in Brewster County, TX to parents Bernabe Ortega and Maria Chavez on 12/4/1941.  Barney was loved by his only son Raymundo Ortega. Mr. Barney loved his Dallas Cowboys and enjoyed watching football all season long. He loved to fish, his long walks, and caring for his dog Chiquita. He will be deeply missed by his family, his only daughter in-law Dianna, and his grandkids & great grandkids,

 He went home to heaven to meet his Lord and reunite with his loved ones on August 25, 2026. Till we meet again 🕊

He will be greatly missed.
