Barbara Louise Allen Sprout, of Midlothian, Texas, passed away at the age of 86 on February 25, 2024.
Services will be held at First Baptist Midlothian Student Center on Thursday, February 29, 2024. Visitation will be held from 12:00 to 1pm and the service will follow from 1:00 to 2pm. The private burial will be held the following Monday, March 4, 2024 for the family.
Barbara was known for her 44-year career as a teacher, most of which occurred at Lancaster High School. Over the years she taught Theater, Speech, Debate, and English. She directed hundreds of plays, created numerous student leaders through debate, and offered countless hours of her time to develop character and independent young men and women. Additionally, Barabara devoted numerous hours at her church, directing a variety of plays and musicals throughout the year She attended many years at Hampton Road Baptist, and most recently at First Baptist Midlothian. Following her retirement from education, Barbara traveled all over the U.S. and Canada driving charter buses. Although Barbara loved her adventures, her biggest passion in life was being a devoted mother and grandmother.
Above all else, Barbara's lifelong desire was to serve God in every capacity given to her. She made every moment and opportunity a chance to share the love of God. Every part of her life involved sharing the love of Jesus.
Barbara is survived by her son, Daryl Sprout of Lancaster, Texas, her daughter Tanya Hydes and son-in-law, Ray Hydes of Midlothian, Texas, her sister, Happy Beaty of Colorado Springs, Colorado, her grandkids, Anna Strange, Daryl ("Alex") Alexander Golden, and Raegan Corbin and grandson-in-law, Brendan Corbin, her great granddaughter, Laykin Corbin, and numerous other relatives and friends.
Preceding Barbara in death are her husband, George Sprout, her sisters, Gloria Farrar, Linda Axton, her brother Billy Allen, her parents, Wiliam and Hattie Allen, and her twin grandchildren.
