Alvin Lewis Hendricks
Alvin Lewis Hendricks, 78, of Cedar Hill, went to be with the Lord peacefully on August
4th, 2024. Services will be 10:30 am, Thursday August 8, 2024 at Dallas First Church of
the Nazarene, 825 N Cockrell Hill Rd. Desoto, TX 75115. Burial will follow at Little Bethel
Memorial Park, 1803 Cedar Hill Rd. Duncanville, TX 75137.
Alvin was born on April 12, 1946, in Dallas Texas, to Ollie Lewis Hendricks and Barbara Etta Truelove Hendricks. He married Karon Ammons on November 27, 1965 in Pampa, Texas.
Throughout his life, Alvin pursued various trades which highlighted his artistic and craftsmanship skills, including oil paintings and woodworking in his spare time. Alvin retired after 20 years with Whataburger as a supervisor. Alvin was a devout Nazarene, and was a member of Dallas First Church for over 45 years. Being a sports enthusiast, he was a pee-wee coach, refereed all sports and he formed the Nazarene Softball League in the mid 70's where local Christian softball teams competed throughout Texas and Oklahoma. Alvin loved playing golf and watching his grandkids play football, baseball, softball, soccer, basketball,volleyball and the clarinet.
Alvin led his life to be a Godly example to his family, friends and co-workers.
His loving memory will be cherished by those he leaves behind - his wife of 58 years Karon Hendricks, his daughter Michelle Anderson and husband James, his son Bradley Hendricks and wife Becki; three grandsons - Luke Anderson and wife Jessica, Bo Anderson and wife Julian, and Jake Anderson, two granddaughters- Kayleigh and Madeline Hendricks ; three great grandchildren - Colt, Aubrey and Easton Anderson, and a brother, Stephen LaVoy "Duke" Hendricks, along with other family and friends.
The family wishes to express their heartfelt appreciation to Angela, Evelyn, Cynthia, and Chaplain Barrett of Texas Best Hospice.

The family will receive family and friends from 5:00 - 7:00PM Wednesday, August 7, 2024,
at Jeter & Son Cedar Hill Chapel, 332 Cedar St, Cedar Hill, Texas.
Funeral service will be 10:30AM Thursday, August 8, 2024,
at Dallas First Church of the Nazarene, 825 N. Cockrell Hill Rd, DeSoto, Texas.
Burial will follow at Little Bethel Cemetery, Duncanville, Texas.
