Albina S. Silva

August 22, 1923 - May 13, 2023

Albina "Nina" S. Silva (99) passed away on Saturday, May 13, 2023, in Dallas, Texas. She was born on August 22, 1923, to Amalia Ramos Samaniego and Jesus Samaniego in Dallas, Texas. During World War II, Albina was a "Rosie the Riveter" and supervisor working on the B-24 Liberator, T-6 Texan trainer, and P-51 Mustang fighter for North American Aviation. After the war, she met her future husband, Manuel R. Silva, and married in 1947. She was also a seamstress, sample maker, and clothing manufacturing supervisor. She attended Saint Elizabeth Catholic Church.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 72 years, Manuel, and by her daughter, Mary Esther Silva. She is survived by her daughters Patricia (Tim) Summers, Elizabeth Silva (Bill Payne), Margaret Silva (David Carlson), and son, Manuel "Poppy" Silva, Jr.
The Silva family would like to thank the Duncanville Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center and her dedicated and loving caregivers.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Monday, May 22, 2023 at Jeter & Son Funeral Home, Dallas, Texas with a Rosary Service at 5:30 PM. Funeral Service will be at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, May 23, 2023 at the funeral home. Graveside Service and Interment will follow at Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery.
