Agustina Jinez

January 15, 1948 - November 2, 2024

Agustina Jinez was born on January 15, 1948 in Dallas, TX to Juan and Agustina Martínez and returned to God on November 2, 2024.

She graduated from Crozier Tech in 1966 and attended Mountain View College. From there she went on to work for the City of Dallas as a health inspector.

Agustina reconverted to Catholicism in her late 30s. At that time, she joined the Legion of Mary and was an auxiliary member ever since. She later started the Divine Mercy Cenacle at St. Cecilia Catholic Church and has actively promoted God's mercy and salvation from purgatory through the Divine Mercy Chaplet for the past 22 years.

Agustina was preceded in death by her son Michael Puentes and her daughter Victoria Puentes and 2 grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughter Christina Jinez, her son Stephen Cook and wife Lidia Cook, her grandson Joe Alvarez and fiancé Kriselle Do; and 7 other grandchildren.

Her funeral service is Wednesday November 6th from 2-6:30 at Jeter & Son. Her mass will be held at 10:30 am on Thursday November 7th at St. Cecilia and she will be buried at 12 pm at Calvary Hill.

She has victoriously made her way to God our Father, so you are welcome to wear celebratory colors.

A visitation will be held at Jeter & Son Funeral Home, Dallas, Texas from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Wednesday, November 6, 2024 with a Rosary Service at 5:30 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Cecilia Catholic Church at 10:30 AM, Thursday, November 7, 2024. Graveside Service and Interment to follow at Calvary Hill Cemetery, Dallas, Texas.
