Obituary

Abelardo (Abel) Palomo was born in San Antonio, Texas to Jose and Candelaria Palomo.  He passed away on January 7th, 2023 at the age of 90.
Abel was the 6th of 11 children. He grew up in the Barrio on Harwood St. in Dallas, Texas and attended St. Ann's School on Harry Hines Blvd. He joined the Army in 1948 at the age of 17.  Then returned to marry Manuela Coronado and they had six children.
Abel enjoyed reading the Dallas Morning News on a daily basis and loved drinking his coffee with something sweet to eat. He was a loving, caring son, brother, father and grandfather.  His favorite time of the year was in April during Fiesta Celebration in San Antonio, Texas.  And he always looked forward to seeing his grown children and grandchildren in San Antonio during this time of year.
He is preceded in death by his Father, Mother, Wife, four brothers and three sisters.
He is survived by two sisters Alice Estrada and Ester Poag and one brother Richard Palomo.
Abel had one son Manuel Palomo and five daughters Rosanna, Sylvia, Helen, Cynthia and Stephanie; 20 grandchildren; 43 great grandchildren; and 8 great, great grandchildren.
Abel, you will be missed.

Services at Jeter & Son Chapel, 4830 W.Illinois Ave, Dallas, Texas.

Visitation will be 2:30 - 6:00PM Sunday January 15, 2023, with a Rosary at 4:00PM

Funeral Service at 9:30AM Monday January 16, 2023.

Military honors and interment to follow at Dallas / Fort Worth National Cemetery.
